Bid Whist is a captivating card game where bidding and predicting outcomes are the key elements that bring excitement and enjoyment to players, regardless of the final result.

The main objective of Bid Whist is to earn 7 or more points or compel the opposing team to accumulate negative 7 or more points.

In Bid Whist, four players form two teams, with partners sitting across from each other. The game employs a standard 52-card deck alongside 2 distinct jokers - the big joker and the little joker. Each player is dealt 12 cards, while 6 additional cards are placed face down in the center to create a kitty during the deal.

Initiating from the player on the left of the dealer, bidding involves selecting a number ranging from 3 to 7, accompanied by either "Uptown," "Downtown," or "No trump." The highest bidder determines the trump suit or specifies whether a no-trump bid will be played uptown or downtown. Subsequently, the bidder collects the 6 kitty cards and discards 6 cards.

Regarding jokers in play, if there is a trump suit, they become the highest-ranking cards in that suit during the hand. In case of a no-trump bid, all suits are considered non-trump suits.

Throughout Bid Whist, both teams commence with a score of zero. At the round's conclusion, the books are tallied - totaling 13, reflecting the 12 cards played by each player plus the kitty, which awards a book to the bidder's team. Any book won beyond 6 contributes as a point.

If a no-trump bid clinches victory, the hand score doubles. The game concludes once a team reaches 7 or more points or forces their rivals to dip below -7 points.
